0
The Galleria dell'Accademia is a museum institution in Naples founded in 1864 and located in the building that houses the Academy of Fine Arts. The historical gallery houses drawings, paintings and sculptures in marble, bronze and terracotta dating from the 16th to the 19th century. An important number of pieces come from the Palizzi donation made in 1896 by Filippo Palizzi. This includes works (including paintings and drawings) mostly by foreign artists, such as Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps and Henri Rousseau. In addition to the historical gallery, there is the gallery of plaster casts, with its hundreds of pieces, some of which are rare and valuable; the regional gallery of modern art, with almost 800 works, including paintings, drawings and sculptures, of which almost five hundred are paintings, over two hundred drawings and about seventy sculptures; and a video section.
