Accademia di Storia Dell’Arte Sanitaria – Horror museum
The Museo Storico Nazionale dell'Arte Sanitaria ("The Museum of the History of Medicine") probably hosts the richest collection of the country about medical field. The visit starts in Sala Alessandrina with its atlas of anatomy to continue in Sala Flaiani where you can see examples of pathological anatomy, deformed fetus and mummified heads; in sala Capparoni bodies of ancient Romans and Etruscans are preserved. The tour ends in Sala Carbonelli, where instruments such as hacksaws used for amputations and drills are displayed. To tell the truth, a real horror museum!
