Palazzo Agostini, which is known as the home of the Lumiere cinema and the Caffè dell'Ussero, is also called the Caffè dell'Ussero, or Palazzo Rosso. The Palazzo is the most beautiful on the Paciotti Arno embankment, and boasts the distinction of being the most important Gothic civil building in Pisa. Its peculiarity is the external brick surface, decorated with phytomorphic and anthropomorphic figures. As well as housing the Caffè dell'Ussero, which was frequented in the past by people of the calibre of Carducci, Abba and Montanelli, the building also includes the Lumiere cinema, which boasts the distinction of being the oldest cinema in Italy, having been opened in 1899.
