“Alfredo Majorano” Ethnographic Museum – Objects from another time

0
The 'Alfredo Majorano' Ethnographic Museum, located in the old Palazzo Pantaleo, extends from the second floor to include the kitchen and stables on the lower floors. It houses important evidence of the phenomenon of tarantism, with a considerable cultural heritage assembled by the scholar Alfredo Majorano. Majorano, in fact, linked to the traditions of his land, collected objects testifying to the city's traditions, which he subsequently made known through various publications, exhibitions and conferences. The exhibition is divided into several thematic rooms and consists of exhibits related to the sea, the land, old jobs, objects attesting to the playful world of the past and religious devotional artefacts.
