Vicolo dell'Altopascio was once the headquarters of the Lucchese mansion of the Knights of Tau, who had formed themselves in nearby Altopascio. Their emblem, the Tau, can be found here in three different places: one near the entrance to a private house at number 2, another further on the right-hand wall and the last one on a marble slab hanging on the archivolt wall.
