Birthplace of Amedeo Modigliani – The famous artist’s flat
Amedeo Modigliani's birthplace is the place where the famous painter was born on 12 July 1884, the fourth son of a family belonging to Livorno's large Jewish community. In this simple 19th-century building on three floors, the first floor has been reconstructed with the furnishings of the time, and there is ample documentation on Modigliani's life, such as photographs and autograph documents. The exhibition, curated by the Guastalla family, retraces the artistic and human life of the great Leghorn artist, a leading figure in the artistic avant-garde movements of the early 20th century.
