Bo Palace – Anatomical theatre

0
Today, at the Bo, we can still admire the ancient anatomical theatre once used for the practice of dissection of corpses. Inaugurated on 16 January 1595, it was the first fixed structure in the world ever created for this purpose. This place has clearly generated several popular legends. The most famous one is that a canal once ran underneath the Bo palace, guaranteeing secrecy in the transport of corpses, and that the dissecting table could be turned over if necessary, making animal remains appear instead of human ones.
