Capello Vincenzo jewelry – The cursed gem

0
Cursed stones are a staple of folklore, and Turin's tale of an especially ill-fated gem is no exception. Nobody knows exactly how the jewel came to the city, but it's certain that it left it through the doors of the Capello jewelry, then stationed on via Po. The gem, purchased by Napoleon, reached a remarkable size of 51 carats and was last seen in 1911, hanging from the neck of a famous ballerina. The dancer, whose name is now lost to memory, fell into poverty and had no other choice than to give the jewel away, forever consigning it to oblivion.
