Under the arch, that in old times connected Via di san Marcello and Via dell'Archetto, there is a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, called Madonna dell'Archetto. The chapel was built after something myraculous happened to the painting: the Holy Mary moved her eyes! The myracle happened first in 1696 and then in 1796, this time also in front of several people and some members of the Church. After, a chapel was built to protect the painting, becoming the smallest shrine in the city dedicated to the Holy Mary.
