On the external right side of the church St. Maria della Porta there are the ruins of a chapel that protected a fresco of the Holy Mary, considered miraculous. The painting, probably of the '400s and only partially visible, was discovered during the restauration of a house. The story says that the artisan who discovered it recovered from all his pain and diseases. Since then, other miracles happened and a growing number of people went to pray at the fresco. Unfortunately, the chapel built to protect the painting was destroyed by the bombardment during the Second World War.
