Chiesa of Madonna dell’Arco Oscuro – The holy icon
A hermit built a small chapel in 1797 to preserve an icon of the Holy Mary which has been venerated since the Middle Ages and originally located under an arch called "Arco Oscuro". The Romans believed that the icon came from Tabor, the mountain of the Transfiguration of Christ and for this reason, they venerated it. In 1939, the chapel was annexed to a new and bigger church, Church of Madonna dell'Arco Oscuro. The icon is still there, hearing the supplications of the believers.
