Church of Christ – Everything for a canvas
The Oratory of Christ (also known as the Oratory of the Holy Crucifix) is a Baroque church in Piazzale Roversi with a curious history. The Oratory was built to preserve in the apse a fresco of the Holy Crucifix with Our Lady of Sorrows kneeling at his feet. The oil painting on plaster was the work of an anonymous Reggio artist who created it during the plague of 1630-1631.
