Church of Santa Sabina – The stone thrown by the devil

0
According to legend, St. Domenico was kneeling in prayer at the entrance of the church during the night in 1220. The devil tried to lead him into temptation several times but failed and, at the end, he decided to throw on the saint a heavy black stone from the roof of the church. The stone fell really close to St. Domenico but it didn't even touched him, and he continued to pray. The curious thing about this story is that today you can see a black stone with some scratches and holes on the top of a small column on the left side of Santa Sabina Church.
