Church of St.Benedetto in Piscinula – The bell

0
The little Church of St. Benedetto in Piniscula was erected on the ruins of "Domus Aniciorum", the house of Aniciii, an old Roman family who, legend has it, even St. Benedetto belonged to. Here you can see the cell used by the saint but the main attraction of this church is its bell. It was finished in 1069 and it is 45 cm of diameter: the oldest, and at the same time, the smallest bell in Rome.
