Church of St. Vincenzo and St. Anastasio – The naked laic lady

0
On the façade of the Church of St. Vincenzo and Anastasio there are some female statues supporting the emblem of Cardinal Mazzarino, the "creator" of this church. The bust with naked breasts is very rare as it is one of the few examples of a laic woman on the façade of a church. It probably represents the niece of the Cardinal, Maria Mancini, lover of Louis XIV of France, or according to other versions, her sister Ortensia, well-known for her love affairs.
