Colleoni Chapel – The Tomb of Medea
The tomb of Bartholomew's daughter, Medea, also by Amadeo, was placed on the left wall of the Colleoni Chapel in 1842. In the centre of the sarcophagus is a relief depicting the Pietà , surrounded on either side by two coats of arms, while on the lid is the composed statue of Medea herself, a very young sleeping lady. The statues of Saints Catherine and Clare and the Virgin and Child crown the valuable complex.
