The Galleria d'Arte Sacra dei Contemporanei has a rich collection of works of art dating from the first half of the 20th century, which also includes strictly contemporary pieces. The collection sees the significant presence of artists who are distant from the Church or religious denominations, but united by the need to reflect on the spiritual dimension, and is distinguished by the variety of techniques and materials, as well as the authors represented. For painting, one can admire masterpieces by artists such as Bellotti, Carpi, Speranza and Zigaina; for sculpture and ceramics, Andreotti, Biancini, Bodini, Cassino, Fazzini, Manfrini and Messina. Mosaic and stained glass are represented by Bodini, Carpi, Longaretti, Fazzini and Salietti. There is no lack of more contemporary examples characterised by new languages and interpretations.
