Convent of St. Maria Maddalena al Cerchio – Signore Mosche

0
At Via Cappuccio there was the convent of St. Maria Maddalena al Cerchio built during the '400s. "Al Cerchio" because of the ruins of a Roman circus that surrounded the church. The nuns that used to live here were called "Signore Mosche" ("Ladies Flies") by the Milanese because of their black clothing, because they looked like flies when moving together or maybe because of their annoying preaching.
