Davia Bargellini Museum – Curiosities of old Bologna

0
The Davia Bargellini Museum is located inside the imposing palace built at the behest of Camillo Bargellini between 1638 and 1658. The gallery of paintings, one of the rare examples still intact of the city's historical collections, mostly coming from the Bargellini family, introduces us to the great season of the Bolognese fourteenth century, which played a role of primary importance in late medieval Europe. An important nucleus of the museum, the collection of objects of applied art, "curiosities of old Bologna" of various origins, has ended up giving life to a singular collection in which, next to numerous wrought irons, ornamental bronzes, keys and finely embroidered liturgical vestments, there is a Gala Sedan, a late 18th century carriage, extraordinarily painted and gilded.
