Diocesan Museum – Sacred art, history and beauty

0
Housed in the late eighteenth-century wing of the Archbishop's Palace, which survived the 1908 earthquake, the Diocesan Museum of Reggio Calabria preserves and exhibits an important collection of sacred art from the nearby Cathedral and the diocesan territory. Precious jewellery and liturgical textiles dating from the 15th to the 20th century, wooden and papier-mâché sculptures, stone works and paintings of particular value characterise a rich exhibition itinerary divided into thematic areas illustrating the art and history of the Archdiocese of Reggio Calabria-Bova.
