Duomo – The statue with skin

0
In the right transept of Duomo, the statue of Bartholomew can be found on the right side. This statue, probably the most famous work about St. Bartholomew, is made of bronze and it shows the Saint flayed, with the skin thrown like a stole on the shoulders and the Bible in hand. The anatomical details and the precision of the skin are really impressive, in particular the right hand holding its skin and the face's skin sagging on the left shoulder.
