The headquarters of the Gremio dei Muratori, an ancient guild whose symbols include a square, hammer and compass, and whose patron saint is Our Lady of the Angels, is located at 26 Via Maddalena. This Gremio takes part in the traditional Descent of the Candlesticks on 14 August, carrying an ancient candlestick in procession, and can be recognised by its blue banner. Its candlestick has a capital on which putti are painted and a shaft on which three angels on a pedestal hold the symbols of their trade.
