House of Galileo Galilei –

0
Galileo Galilei taught for 18 years in Padua, during which time he lived in this house. At the time, the area was full of gardens, and from his kitchen garden he could point his telescope at the sky and perfect his theories. He had plenty of space, especially inside the building. Its many rooms allowed Galileo to 'round off' his 'precarious' salary by hosting numerous students, often with butlers and servants in tow, as well as his wife, children and a mechanic who for several years made the first telescopes and a special compass to his specifications.
