House of Puppets – Nineteenth-century theatre materials

0
The House of Puppets is a museum housing the Monticelli Collection, owned by the Monticelli family. It is a collection of puppets, marionettes, stage sets, handwritten scripts and other performing arts paperwork that has been handed down and enriched from father to son for five generations. The collection has the characteristic of being made up of "living" pieces, not assembled by the hands of a collector, but created specifically for the shows that the Monticelli family has produced from the first half of the 19th century to the present day. In particular, the Monticelli Collection gathers 19th century theatre materials from the puppet and marionette theatre, including about fifty marionettes, a hundred puppets, about two hundred sets, over one hundred handwritten scripts and numerous printed materials from tours.
