L.O.V.E. – “Il Dito” by Cattelan

L.O.V.E., known as "Il Dito" ("The Finger"), is a sculpture located in the middle of Piazza Affari made by the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. The statue represents a hand making the fascist salute but with all fingers cut-off except for the middle finger, becoming an irreverent gesture addressed to Palazzo Mezzanotte, the building just in front of the statue. The possible interpretation for targeting this building is twofold: from one side its fascist-style architecture, from the other because it's home of the Italian Stock Exchange, therefore representing the financial world.
