Leonello Barsotti Diocesan Museum – A museum of sacred art

0
The Leonello Barsotti Diocesan Museum is a museum of sacred art whose original nucleus is housed in the former library chapel of the Girolamo Gavi Seminary. It houses various works of art belonging to the Diocese of Livorno, previously scattered throughout the territory, such as a monstrance dating back to 1692 in silver and gilded metal, or precious liturgical vestments made by important manufacturers active between the 17th and 19th centuries. Among the paintings preserved, two panels of the Giotto school, from the church of San Jacopo in Acquaviva and previously deposited in the National Museum of San Matteo in Pisa, are worth mentioning.
