The Mole Antonelliana was originally built as an Israelite temple. With its octagonal base and its height of 550 feet, it's the tallest brick building in the world. The statue of Faith in front of the church of Gran Madre di Dio was likely designed with its gaze trained at the Mole, but nowadays its pupils are so faded that it's impossible to tell for certain. According to legend, however, the place at which the statue stares so intently reveals the location of the fabled Holy Grail.
