St. Benedetto from Norcia overnighted at the old "ospitium" when he stayed in Milan in 1135. The "ospitium" was located where the Monastery of St. Bernardo would be built at a later time, replaced in turn by the present Vigentina Library. Thanks to his visit, a few institutions such as the Basilica of Chiaravalle were later constructed.
