The museum itinerary of the Civic Museum of Ancient Art covers several floors. In the basement there is the Medieval Lapidary with sculptures from the Piedmont area, the mosaic from the Cathedral of Acqui and the precious jewellery from the Desana Treasure. The ground floor is dedicated to Piedmontese figurative culture from the 13th to the 16th century. The room with the magnificent wooden choir from Staffarda Abbey leads to the hall built by Ludovico d'Acaia at the beginning of the 15th century; here you can admire the painting and sculpture collections of the great Piedmontese masters from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and precious objects. On the first floor, there are the ancient flats of the Royal Madames, decorated with works of art from the 17th and 18th centuries. Finally, on the second floor, ceramics, ivories, jewellery, bronzes, textiles and glass are on display.
