Museo Galileo – The armillary sphere

0
The Museo Galileo is structured around two main exhibits: the Medicean collection of scientific instruments (16th and 17th century) and the Lorraine collection (18th century). Among the items on display here you'll find the telescope lens through which Galileo made his groundbreaking discoveries, as well as a large armillary sphere built by Antonio Santucci delle Pomarance. On the museum's second floor you'll instead find a curious assortment of petrified body parts, the last remnants of Girolamo Segato's experiments.
