Museum of Electrical Technology – The history of electricity

0
The Pavia Museum of Electrical Technology, opened in 2007, is dedicated to Alessandro Volta, inventor of the electric battery and professor at the University of Pavia. The museum traces the history of electricity from the first experiments to the most modern developments through five dedicated sections: the origins (from the Greeks to the 19th century with Volta's discovery), electricity becomes established (the incandescent lamp, the locomotive and the first industrial developments), electricity for everyone (domestic use, power stations, transport, communication), electricity everywhere (the 20th century with nuclear energy, computers and mobile phones) and finally from today to the future (environmental issues and new technologies introduced in recent decades).
