The Museo dell'Opera di Santa Chiara was created to reconstruct the history of the church of Santa Chiara, considered one of the most important Gothic buildings in Naples. It consists of several sections. There is the archaeology room, with an exhibition of ceramic and marble objects, finds from the construction of the church; the history room, with panels and objects that reconstruct the history of the complex; and the marble room, undoubtedly the most important room in the museum because of the wealth of works of art it contains, with numerous marble fragments and sculptures dating from the 14th to the 18th century. Finally, you can admire the hall of reliquaries, which contains sacred ornaments, wooden and silver cases and banners.
