Museum of the Tricolour – The birth of the Italian flag
In the Palazzo Municipale (Municipal Building) of Reggio Emilia is the Sala del Tricolore (Tricolour Room), the place where the Italian flag was born on 7 January 1797. On the floors above the hall is the small but interesting Tricolour Museum, where documents and memorabilia tell the story of the national flag and all the different forms it took until the end of the Napoleonic era.
