National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art – More than 20,000 works
The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art), opened in Rome in 1883, houses one of the largest art collections, about 20,000 works including paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations, representing the main artistic movements of the last two centuries, from Neoclassicism to Impressionism, from Divisionism to the historical avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, from Futurism and Surrealism to the so-called Roman School. Inside the gallery you can find works by artists such as Francesco Hayez and Antonio Canova, but also by Balla and Boccioni.
