Oil drums – The old merchants’ warehouse
One of Livorno's attractions is undoubtedly the Bottini dell'Olio. Built in 1705, they were originally used to store oil. The barrels stored in the main hall were mainly used by merchants who did not have their own warehouses and were willing to pay a monthly fee. Today the Bottini dell'Olio host temporary exhibitions and some sections of the Biblioteca Labronica.
