Omero State Tactile Museum – Art through hands
Established in 1993 by the Municipality of Ancona on the inspiration of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Omero State Tactile Museum is one of the few tactile museums in the world where art can be experienced through the amazing perspective of the hands. It is an innovative and enjoyable space, created to promote the integration of people with visual impairments. The collection includes architectural models, plaster and fibreglass casts and copies of sculptures, archaeological finds from prehistoric to Roman times and original sculptures by contemporary artists.
