Palazzo Bovara – Stendhal’s home
At Palazzo Bovara lived the French writer Henry Beyle, known by most of us as Stendhal, author of "The Charterhouse of Parma" and "The Red and The Black". Stendhal was so attached to Milan that ordered to write on his gravestone in Paris "Arrigo Beyle, Milanese". Sadly, he was obliged to leave his beloved city by order of the Austrian government in 1921 due to his alleged support to the Carbonari movement.
