Paolo Pini Museum of Art (MAPP) – The museum in the psychiatric hospital

0
MAPP is a contemporary art museum located in the former Paolo Pini Psychiatric Hospital in Milan, conceived in 1993 by Teresa Melorio and Enza Baccei. The aim of the project was to transform the psychiatric hospital into a meeting place where "making art" would be an opportunity for an exchange of ideas and languages between professional artists and people with mental illness. The Paolo Pini Art Museum was inaugurated in 1995 and today consists of a permanent collection of murals, installations and sculptures located in the grounds of the Paolo Pini, outside and inside the pavilions, and a collection of works created "four-handedly" by artists and visitors to the "Botteghe d'Arte".
