Parish church of Santa Maria in Acquedotto – Our Lady with a halo
The parish church of Santa Maria in Acquedotto is an ancient parish church that was built in the 13th century on the remains of an older Byzantine church. The interior is simple and essentially bare. In fact, the church, following various maintenance and reconstruction works, has lost the ancient works that covered the walls of the building. However, some traces of frescoes can still be found: considerably worn by time is the so-called 'Madonna with the halo', with an engraved halo, which is present on the counter façade to the left of the entrance and dates back to the 14th century.
