Perfume Museum (Borsari collection) – Parma Violet

The Borsari Collection is housed at number 30 Via Trento, in an interesting museum focusing on perfumes, one of Parma's most characteristic products. Through the history of the Borsari company, founded in 1870 and producer of the famous perfume "Violetta di Parma", born from the passion of Duchess Maria Luigia for the viola mammola, a wild flower of the Parma Apennines, and the entrepreneurial farsightedness of Lodovico Borsari (who in 1870 managed to obtain the secret formula of the perfume created by the monks of the Convent of the Annunciata), the collection shows all the fundamental stages of graphics, art, taste and style linked to Italian perfumery.
