The Pinacoteca del Mare is the ideal place to present the rich artistic production of the civic collection in a unified way, displaying works that have been kept in municipal deposits or public offices until now. The largest and most valuable section of the exhibition is devoted to paintings, photographs and drawings by the Swiss artist Alfred Châtelain, followed by Adolfo De Carolis. Modern artists include the works of Armando Marchegiani from San Benedetto, who is present in the collection with oil paintings and drawings on paper. In the room next to the entrance, there are also two canvases by Angelo Landi, belonging to a private collection. The section has recently been enriched with images attributed to De Carolis from the photographic album 'Vele ritrovate'.
