Piazza delle Erbe – The origin of the name
Piazza delle Erbe owes its particular name to the fact that right here, until the 20th century, there was a two-leafed wooden aedicule containing a painting of St Lawrence the Martyr, who was particularly revered by the herb and fruit vendors of Novara.
