Piazza Duca d’Aosta – Sculpture by Marco Gerra
A sculpture by Marco Gerra has been placed on the roundabout in Piazza Duca d'Aosta, so as not to interrupt the perspective effect of the 'visual telescope' created by the historic straight stretch of Via Emilia. The work is a sign of contemporary art in Reggio, the result of Marco Gerra's talent and a clear symbol of his iconographic world. It may evoke the industrial civilisation that developed in the early twentieth century in the nearby Gardenia district, but it is also a sign of the cultural and artistic vocation emerging on the Via Emilia, where the Maramotti Museum of Contemporary Art is also located.
