Pinacoteca Ambrosiana – Caravaggio’s Basket of Fruit

Federico Borromeo, the Cardinal in "The Betrothed", was a well-educated and benevolent gentleman, who decide to donate his valuable art collection to the city. Some pieces are really unique, e.g., the preparatory drawing of Raffaello's "School of Athens" and the landscapes of the Flemish artist Brueghel. Noteworthy, Caravaggio's "Basket of Fruit", preserved at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, which definitely worth a visit. Observing this painting, it is easy to understand where Impressionism and the modern painting comes from, from here indeed.
