Pitti Palace – The Treasure of the Grand Dukes

0
The Treasury of the Grand Dukes (which until 2015 was called the Silver Museum) is part of the Pitti Palace complex. Founded in the second half of the 19th century, it is housed in the northern side wing of the main body of the palace, within which it extends into 14 rooms on the ground floor and 13 rooms on the mezzanine floor above. The museum is also known as the Medici Treasury, although some of the pieces date from the later Hapsburg-Lorraine period, and contains a vast collection of priceless pieces of gold, silver, crystal, ivory and semi-precious stones.
