Ponte Fabricio – “Ponte Quattro Capi”
Ponte Fabricio is best-known among the people as "Ponte dei Quattro Capi" due to a curious story. It seems that at the end of the 16th century, Pope Sisto V wanted to renovate the bridge and asked four architects to do the works. However, they did not cooperate with each other and there were often bad conflicts. When the bridge was finished, the Pope condemned all four to death and ordered to put a statue with the faces of the architects, all four turning their back to the others.
