Ponte Vecchio – The sundial

Atop Ponte Vecchio, high above a shop's corner at the edge of the western terrace and near a bust of Benvenuto Cellini, stands a curious sundial in the shape of a half-moon, placed here in 1345 upon the bridge's reconstruction. Two exact copies of this solar timekeeper exist, one kept in Borgo Pinti, specifically within the Ximenes-Panciatichi palace, the other in the gardens of Villa I Tatti, in Vincigliata.
