In the passageway inside the restaurant near Ponte Salario, you can catch sight of a "triplice cinta" (3 squares one inside the other), carved on a wall. This symbol is one of the mysteries from the Middles Ages that is still unsolved. We only know that it is recurring along the pilgrims paths and inside the churches. Some people claim that it can be a pagan magical symbol, representing protection and the path of humankind to divinity, where every square symbolises the passages from life to death.
