Located in the 18th-century Palazzo Riso, the Regional Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Palermo promotes, supports and disseminates contemporary art in Sicily with its permanent collection, which includes works by contemporary artists such as Andrea Di Marco, Alessandro Bazan, Giovanni Anselmo, Emilio Isgrò, Domenico Mangano, Antonio Sanfilippo, Carla Accardi and Christian Boltanski. The Museum Institute includes the Museo d'Aumale in Terrasini, with its archaeological, naturalistic and ethno-anthropological collection, the Real Albergo dei Poveri, the Medieval Castle site in Caccamo and the Paleontological Observatory collection (at the Gemmellaro Museum in Palermo).
