Ruschi Palace – The Lemon House
Palazzo Ruschi is best known for the frescoes by Giovanni Battista Tempesti and the neoclassical lemon house built in the 19th century. The Palazzo was built by the architects Ranieri Gabrielli and Iacopo Donati and has a much-appreciated garden, considered one of the most important gardens in Pisa, which is not only ornamental but also functional. The garden has developed according to changing tastes, moving from a formal 17th-century garden to an English garden. A must-see is the lemon house, famous for housing particular plants, intolerant of the cold and resistant to lack of water.
